College English Class Analysis

On my first day of college I was incredibly nervous about multiple obstacles I was about to face. One of my biggest worries was how I would manage to pass a college English class. However, when I walked in the classroom and saw my old high school classmates Jace and Lauren, I became a bit more comfortable. I was also relieved to discover that the class was very small and the teacher was not scary at all, unlike my prior belief.
In high school, English class was quite easy for me, except for my senior year. Prior to my senior year I was always in the honors classes and had no problem making an A. Though, when I look back on those earlier high school years my teachers were not that great. I feel pretty confident to say they most probably never

I have learned how to insert my own creativity into my writing and fully express my thoughts in unique ways. I still sometimes go crazy with comma insertion, but I really believe I have eased up a little on that whole issue. One of the biggest things that has changed about my writing process is my word count. I am no longer worried about reaching a certain amount of words; I just write all my thoughts and most of the time I find myself way over the minimum. I also feel a lot more confident to proofread another’s paper. Before taking this course I almost felt as it I was doing the person an injustice by proofing their paper, because I honestly had no clue what I was looking for. Aside, from the grammatical and meaning part of writing an essay this course has given me something very special and that is a love of writing. I never in a million years thought I would utter those words, but I actually have really enjoying writing papers for this class. Looking back on this past semester, though I still have room for improvement with some grammatical issues and other writing errors, I still believe I deserve an A for my …show more content…
I have been to every class period this semester and have been prepared almost every time. There was only one time in which we had to read a story and I only read half because I had spent that entire afternoon studying for a chemistry and biology exam, which just happen to be the story we would have a pop quiz on. However, I can honestly say that is the only assignment I have not put all my effort into for this coarse. I also do not believe I have every been a rude or disruptive student. Therefore, with these ideas in mind I do believe I deserve to end this class with an A.
I was really jealous of many of my friends whom tested out of all of their English courses; however, after taking this class I am very fortunate that I didn’t because I needed this course. There was much I needed to learn about writing and myself; and this coarse has helped me to do just that. However, there is still much I have yet to learn and I am looking forward to discovering more knowledge in English

Before this course, I did not know grammar well, and what I did know I did not fully understand. Yet, due to taking the course, I learned more about the structure of the English language, and can use grammar better than I did before. For instance, the first three major assignments were filled with missing comas, verb-tense misuses, and run-on sentences. Now, I may still make mistakes, but I know why I have made them. In other English courses, I had grammar homework and reading assignments that, often, seemed to be busy work, but with this course, I did not think that was the case.…

It feels like so long ago when I first began this English course. I can remember being so excited about the class topic, racism and social justice, which I felt that I had a lot of passion for. Little did I know that I would have to gather up even more enthusiasm and passion to be able to continue writing papers about the same topic all semester long. This course has tested my endurance, and at many times my patience, and for that I am thankful because I know in the end, it has made me a better writer. Despite various minor challenges this semester I believe that I have put in the hard work that it takes and I have achieved the course goals and will complete this class feeling fulfilled and accomplished.…
