My Experience As An Intermediate Mariachi Player

I am an intermediate mariachi player, I play the guitar and vihuela. I'm always learning new things and observing others. When the group is performing I not only perform, but I'm the assistant director and direct my companions to make sure we stay together and are aware of what we are doing. As assistant director of our group when members don’t know something they ask me, and I always have an answer or else I find out and make sure everyone knows. For instance, whenever we are performing I will suggest a song and count it of to let us know we are starting, then I will announce if there is a chorus or instrumental part to let them know when to play, lastly I will let them know when the ending is near to have them ready to end.     The event that I decided to go was BYU Baroque Ensemble, a production made by BYU students, taking place at Madsen Recital Hall Harris Fine Arts Center on November 3.
