7. The two most memorable Musical moments for me were the Concerts and receiving help. The Concerts were memorable to me because they were the first time I’ve ever performed In front of a live audience. While I may have been raised in a small town in North Carolina and C.S. Lewis raised in Ireland, we both came to experience a great moment in both of our lives that had a lot of similarities. He was born in 1898 and I was born in 1998, I came in this world right at a year after he did. The amount of change that happened in the world during that time did not change the same key components of family, nature, and beauty that were all used in both of our special events. My experience with the Blyde River Canyon, was extremely similar to C.S. Lewis’s experience with the Toy Garden. My moment came when I was taken on a trip to south africa with my grandparents and my two younger cousins.…

I loved the last piece in the third movement because it was played very well and it is an iconic piece. I had different emotions for the individual pieces were I felt at ease, delighted, and anxious with a dynamic feeling when the pieces go fast paced. This time I remembered the fast parts since I expected than the other first concert. The most memorable was Moonlight, presto movement. For the chamber groups they projected a playful vibe between each other enjoying when it alternates to one another.…

In chapter six titled Music, Music, Music, the author discussed the importance of musical development, musical intelligence, components of music, selecting appropriate music, instruments, and making music. Musical development spans from infancy to primary grades. Isabelle and Raines (2012) stated that “understanding the unique characteristics of young children during specific developmental periods can provide a framework for developing a responsive curriculum,” (p. 187). Musical intelligence refers to the ability to understand pitch, melody, and rhythm at an advanced degree. Once children began to explore music with instruments, they begin to make music using chants, lullabies, songs, and body parts.…

What was your favorite overall activity? Why? My favorite activity was the sky coaster, even though I didn’t go all the way to the top, because I am scared of heights so it helped me with my fears and because it was so much fun when I got to drop and then swing from the cords that were holding me up. 2.…

I do not think any words could have truly described how I nor the rest of the audience felt during that performance. The opinions and analogies of the pieces found in the program notes did slightly influence me. I agreed with and understood most opinions and comments of the performances. The listenings I did for my pre-concert assignment were not nearly the same thing as being in the auditorium. It was a completely different experience to see, hear and feel the performance in person as opposed to watching a video on a screen and trying to listen to the depth of the orchestra through…

Holiday Concert Evaluation After a long summer vacation and a few months that seemed to go by fast, but felt like a lifetime, Concert Band finally had its first formal winter concert. List three positive musical aspects about the concert: I have to admit, since playing in Concert Band for two years now, this winter concert felt different than the rest. (In a total good way.) Maybe it's because I’m an 8th grader this year, and I know the rest of the 8th graders in this class so that way we’re able to participate in all the inside jokes we have as a band.…

Different moments of our lives change us and shape us into the man or woman whom one day we will become. One moment that changed me was when I got my first instrument. I learned the need to work well in advance of the deadline. Musical details may be different than academic details, but just as slight differences in tone and pitch can completely change the music’s meaning, every detail, regardless of how small, matters in all subjects. Whether it’s a math problem or a novel, my heightened attention to detail helps me to better identify the correct steps or the overall theme. As high-school progressed it became more and more evident that relying on natural abilities doesn’t equate to achieving…

The emotions expressed by not only the music but by how the musicians looked while playing these pieces made me believe that this show meant a lot to them because they would sway to the music when they weren’t playing. It had my emotions spiral out of control because some of the music was happy then it turned sad in an instance, then it would go right back to something whimsical. It’s not the typical kind of music that I would listen to daily but I am happy that I got to attend this event and hear something that I wouldn’t normally.…
