She's Such A Nice Person Analysis

“She’s such a nice person.” “She’s the nicest person in the group.” Nice. The one word that I constantly hear when someone is asked to describe me or the word just pops up into the conversation. I take it as a compliment, because it still is, but that word isn’t my only defining characteristic. I am passionate, attentive, and adaptive in any task that I have accomplished in my life so far. Not many people can say that they are passionate, even fewer can say that they know what they are passionate about. I have never really thought about it much but I know that I love to help others in any way possible. I find it rude to not pay attention to someone who is trying to teach you a new lesson but you decide to talk to your friend instead. This was a major problem in my Pre-Cal class last year. Our teacher would ask us on how we thought the problem should be solved during notes but most of the class would either be talking to their friends or just ignoring her by sleeping. I sat closest to her so I, along with a few others nearby, would answer her and that was how the year began but eventually the others began to participate in the class discussion. Being an active listener is a major part of being attentive. Hearing someone speak is different than listening to someone speak because you can hear the words but not fully understand their meaning. Listening to the speaker gives you all of the information you need to make an informed decision. I like to have all or as much information that I can have before I make a decision or give advice to friends on a certain topic. By being very keen to details, I happen to be a quick learner and can handle an unscheduled change in plans relatively

Someone could use these habits for different things like handling their attitude, all the way to getting themselves a good education. Even if someone doesn't believe that listening in class doesn't matter, it truly does. As Michael Nicholos said in his book, The Lost Art of Listening, he states "To listen is to pay attention, take an interest, care about, take to heart, validate, acknowledge, and appreciate (Nicholos 14). Then back to being proactive, people can even be proactive when listening during school, presentation, etc. This is because if someone is paying attention to the people that are teaching/speaking, they will become more proactive by respecting them by giving them all their attention.…

John Ford’s play, ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore, deals with matters of adultery, corruption, incest, murder and revenge. Whilst these behaviours make for a sensationalist play, they also convey an underlying commentary on the ideals of womanly behaviour, marriage and adherence church law. During the Renaissance, incest or near incest was common among dynastic families to ensure bloodline purity. Widely practised in royal and wealthy circles, the Church did not condone such behaviour and considered it an abomination.…

Amy Schumer, stand-up comedian and TV star: “She’s the everygirl—if everygirl were fearless.” The “everygirl.” This is the kind of girl, woman, female individual that ELLE’s editor-in-chief Robbie Myers explicitly states she is looking to appeal to. In April’s issue, Myers “Editor’s Letter” takes the defensive after the shocking statement that Schumer—the “everygirl herself”—resists reading women’s magazines because of the way they “make her feel bad about herself” (ELLE 92). In her counterargument, Myers throws out words like “talented,” “complex,” and “unconventional” in describing both the women they promote—like April’s cover star, Shailene Woodley—and the women they seek to reach.…

Track 2 (“Baby Be Mine”): This song starts with percussion and synthesizer sound effects. The lyrics begin at 0:20. I noticed that the percussion highlighted the second and fourth beats of the measure. The song was a legato sounding pop song that sounded like some of the songs on the top 40 radio stations. Background singers entered at about 0:58; they shocked me because I did not expect something like that in this song.…

It’s been four years since I came from Pakistan, and my thinking about higher education has drastically changed. In Pakistan the only people who got “educated” were rich people as they could afford the expensive tuition fees. Getting an education in Pakistan meant going above the standards and receiving a status. A college graduate would receive more respect in the job place as compared to person with just a high school diploma working there for years. Unfortunately in Pakistan we never had an option in high school to take advance courses or courses that a person has an interest in.…

When we precisely think of passion we think of love, devotion, and excitement. Passion, according to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, can be defined as a strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept. Initially, when we see two spouses kiss and show affection towards one another, we admire the passion and love that they have for one another. Also, throughout the years my parents, mentors, and teachers all encouraged me to pursue my passion and go after my “dream” job. But, after reading pieces written by Jeff Haden and Carl McCoy, it has me examining the significance of the pursuit of passion.…
