My Cultural Background: South Korea

My Cultural Background : South Korea Hello! Annyeonghaseo! My name’s ChanHee Jeong. I was born in Seoul South Korea on August 5th, 2000. If I was more descriptive, I was born in a humongous city called Gangnam. Yeah like the song Gangnam Style. On my dad’s side, my great grandmother found Christianity. Almost every family member in my dad’s side are Christians. And on my mom’s side, Christianity has been in the family for awhile. In Korea, people speak Hanguel, which is the Korean language. They wouldn’t understand that not everyone in North Korea carry around bombs, but that most of them are innocent and poor. Also I would be teased for having small eyes, which is true, but sometimes hurtful when they tease me too much about it. The top three famous Korean foods would probably be : ddeokbokki, bibimbap, and kimchi. Ddeokbokki is a hot korean rice cake dish. Bibimbap is served in a bowl of rice which is topped with many different kinds of vegetables, meat, fried egg, and a Korean hot sauce called kochujang. Kimchi is a hot-tasting dish made from pickled Chinese cabbage and few other

The Korean Amerasians shared common origins and pure blood ideologies with Japan. According to fellow Amerasian Yuri Doolan, author of “Being Amerasian in South Korea,” the existence of the Amerasians in Korea "is a direct result of the legacies of the Korean War and the massive U.S. military presence that has continued in South Korea over the past six decades. " In Korea, thousands of Amerasian children born of U.S. servicemen and Korean women were neglected by their mothers and lurk around the streets near U.S. military bases.
