Whenever my teachers and friends asked me about my aim in life while I was still at school, I used to say merely that I want to be a successful person in society. At that time I was not aware of the exact pursuit and inclination of my mind, nor did I know what it meant to be a successful person! But now, I know the meaning of a successful person; a successful person is one who is well-known to society and his/ her contribution is vital for society and nation. Today I have a crystal clear vision about a successful person in the field of chemistry. My ultimate wish, as I conceive it now, is to be a successful scientist in the field of Organic chemistry.
Previously, when I was at my bachelor’s level, I was in a great dilemma to choose between Biology and Chemistry as my discipline of specialization, because both the subjects were my favorite. I consulted one of my teachers and he suggested me to choose chemistry because in chemistry I could also go to biochemistry – an area I had a natural flair for. He said that opting for this subject would not necessitate me to leave either of the subjects. And he was true because biochemistry happened to be a subject that deals with both nature and nurture. During my involvement as a volunteer in the social organization, my mind used to enthuse me to do something for the society.
