6. “The musical elements that I hear in these examples are pitch, duration and tone quality. In Sylvie, there are mainly human voices singing, so the tone quality is different from the string quartet because it in on musical instruments. In the String Quartet and Nkende Yamayayu, the duration of the sounds are short and choppy, but in Sylvie, the sounds and words are long and drawn out. I can not really hear the differences in the loudness through a computer, but I can feel the energy coming from the sounds and can picture the instruments becoming louder in my head. “
