Many people, including children, teens and adults can multitasks, but the more you do it, the more you become distracted and cannot focus on one topic or job (Brandon Keim). Multitasking, just a little or excessively, can quickly cause your focus to change to something else that is not important. Annie Murphy Paul states, “Evidence from psychology, cognitive science, and neuroscience suggests that when students multitask while doing schoolwork, their learning is far spottier and shallower than if the work had their full attention.” When multitasking, the tasks will get done, but does it get done at full capacity? According to Lori Aratani, it does not because she states that “One of the biggest problems about multitasking is that it’s almost impossible to gain a depth of knowledge of any of the tasks you do while you’re multitasking.” If something is done repeatedly, it becomes more and more familiar which is not a pro situation when it comes to multitasking. That is why teens today, struggle to do their schoolwork and some of them do not do it at all. Multitasking changes how teens learn anything and everything. Multitasking is clearly a detriment to teen’s schoolwork. They need to put down their phones, stop watching television and focus on the main task, their homework. It is time to teach teenagers how much trouble can come from doing multiple things at once. If teens keep multitasking the way they are now,
