When Ms. X recalled her infancy and childhood experiences, she reflected on positive and joyful memories. As an infant, Ms. X was told that she was extremely affectionate, always looking to be held or to sit in someone’s lap. X experiences much memory loss in her older age (Lamb, 2015). Though Ms. X recognizes that memory loss, specifically short-term memory loss can be troublesome for she has a difficult time holding onto information, rather than viewing this loss as a deficit, Ms. X considers it a blessing. Such forgetfulness does not allow her to hold grudges, which she appreciates. She believes that this allows her to take the day as it is, rather than live in the past with anger and resentment.
