Sidiqinoori was administered the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA). This cognitive screening test is designed to be more sensitive and precise in measuring cognitive impairment than the MMSE. It provides a relatively comprehensive overview that assesses major cognitive domains which acts as a cognitive brain scan and is sensitive in the detection of early stages of impairment. The cognitive domains that the MOCA measures include short-term memory tasks, visuospatial, multiple aspects of executive functioning, attention, concentration, working memory, language, delayed recall and orientation. Her total score was 15/30 without cues and 18/30 with cues. This total score falls below the normal range and indicates some moderate cognitive impairment. That being said the areas she performed well in were in visuospatial, and executive functioning. Ms. Sidiqinoori’s current concerns and main areas of weakness began in working memory, followed with problems in language, attention, and delayed recall. Ms. Sidiqinoori had much difficult with repeating a sequence of numbers forwards and backwards, missed two A’s when she was read the list of letters, and tool a significant amount of time counting backwards from 100 by seven. When Ms. Sidiqinoori was asked to recall the list of words, she was able to recall two words during the first trial, with the category cue she was able to recall the same words, and with the multiple choice cue she was able to recall three more
