Just as Bryan Stevenson’s grandmother told him, getting close to issues important to people is imperative to fully understanding them (Stevenson 14). Individuals such as Akon, the owner of the Akon Lighting Africa organization, realized how people are at a disadvantage without electricity in Africa, so he bought land in Africa and is using solar electricity to power small villages. By experiencing this first-hand and getting close to the living conditions, he is able to understand exactly what these people are going through. Couples like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt understand how so many children are homeless, so they personally got involved in trying to fix the issue by adopting three children (Dailymail.com).…

The Tom Robinson case is over. All I can say is it is a shame that Tom Robinson went to jail. I did my job and I did what was right, but at the end, it doesn’t seem that way. When Tom Robinson died it was a sad day for those who believed in him, I know it is sad for me. I, as sheriff, did my job by taking Tom under question because of the lack of evidence, but I was hoping it would turn out better than this.…
Before the story has begun, the African American is already accused of raping a white, nineteen year old Mayella Ewell. Many townspeople of Maycomb believe that Robinson is not responsible for his crime because he is a hard-working and well-respected man. On the other hand, they disrespect and distrust the prosecutor, Mayella Ewell, because she belongs to a poor, disgraceful “white trash” family who lives by the town’s dump. The second evidence that proves Tom Robinson’s innocence is found in Mr. Ewell’s testimony on the rape. Mr. Ewell, Mayella’s father and one of the witnesses of the incident, tells Atticus, the lawyer of Tom Robinson, that he does not call a doctor for Mayella on that day.…
HOLLAND’S THEORY: According to Gelso and Fretz (as cited in Nauta, 2010) “Helping people make career decisions have been fundamental to counseling psychology since its emergence as a profession, and it continues to be central to its identity today”. John Holland theorized a concept which would be used to help people find their own career interests, make their own career decisions, find how to obtain information about the career and how to structure their career education (Schreuder & Coetzee, 2016). “Holland’s theory was so predictive that there was little room for anything else after it. He speculated correctly about the “taxonomy” (classification domains) of work environments, which effectively enabled him to organize all the existing jobs…
