The nurse is concerned about the physician statement because she is realizes the long term effects of hypertension on the body. The problems comes in place with battling on terms of respecting the autonomy of the patient versus labeling the patient as being noncompliant. This paper will first, discuss the values identified in the case with Mr. Hester. Second, there will be a discussion of personal values and how conflict may arise from these values. Third, will be a discussion of the issues in Mr. Hester case and how this relates to the healthcare provider, organization and the patient. Hester case highlight for the healthcare provider as being unethical. The patient has the right to make their decision regarding the plan for their health care. If the patient blood pressure is elevated, the physician should educate and inform the patient regarding the risk associated with long term effects of elevated blood pressure. After the patient has been educated, as previously stated with honoring autonomy, the patient has the right to choose their plan of care. The organization being walk-in free clinic, should continue to provide quality level of care at their clinic. The overall objective for the clinic is to provide safe and competent care, in which will help improve the overall condition of the patient
