Mr. Crome: received a “B” on his last test. Writing is difficult for Michael. Michael’s needs to have a proofreader for his writing assignments. He also needs the modifications of shortened assignments. Any modifications that can be made concerning writing would be beneficial for Michael. There is more writing in Mr. Crome’s class than most of Michael’s other classes. Maybe a modification that would be beneficial would be to weigh his writing different than his peers. Michael loves history. Next year, Mr. Crome believes it would be beneficial for him to be enrolled in an inclusion English class. His math class is in the resource room. This allows Michael to work at a slower pace.
Dad does not have access to I-Excel. The math Michael had access to was the wrong area. Dad requested that Michael be allowed to do his core math in his head without having to write out each step. Dad does not understand why Michael has to write his math process out, when Michael can do the computation in his head.
Team discussed that teachers ask students to write out math process so that they can give students partial credit if they attempt the problem but mess up on one of the steps. If Michael wants to do his problems on a pass/fail system (that he only receives credit if the answers the problem correctly- he could just give the answer) this could be arranged.
Transition Michael has a Learners Permit. He thinks True Value may hire him. He has applied for a job at Southerland. In the future, Michael wants to be a teacher or an engineer.
SPED Teacher Michael’s counselor was not able to attend the meeting; however the counselor indicated that Michael is on track to graduate.
