This story talks about how the Earth is being affected by natural disasters. We are also facing climate crisis and it is very dangerous for the future. The first picture taken of Earth was on Christmas Eve 1968, by an astronaut name Apollo 8. In order to see Earth's shape and size of the continents clearly they use any projection. There’s about 6.5 billion people on Earth. Technology has become so powerful that we are causing harm to the environment. The vulnerable part of Earth is the atmosphere surrounding the Earth. The atmosphere is very thin, we are capable of dramatically changing its composition. Paper mills are the biggest industrial pollutes in the United States. As well as greenhouse gases which holds heat such as carbon dioxide, …show more content…
Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa was once famous because for its snow-covered peaks. Ernest Hemingway was standing next to a giant icicle (glacier). He predicts in 10 years the snow of Kilimanjaro will disappear. Glaciers are huge masses of compacted ice. All over the world they are disappearing because of the weather changes. Almost all mountain glaciers in the world are now melting and many of them as fast. Mount Everest is popular for being the biggest tallest mountain ever. If glaciers disappear in the next world's half century, 2.6 billion of the world's people will face a very serious drinking water shortage. Greenhouse gases are also causing glaciers to melt and the hottest temperature of the year recorded was in 2005. Were already seeing heat waves and that is very dangerous. Summer 2003 a massive heatwave in Europe killed 35,000 people. Higher temperature causes soil to dry out and causes moisture for healthy crops to grow. Farmland can dry out if we keep adding carbon dioxide to the United States. Drier soils, leaves, and wildfires are becoming more common. Warmer air produces lightning, another cause of fire. Another effect on our climate are …show more content…
The U.S. Was being battened by hurricanes. Warmer water increases moisture content of storms and warmer air holds more moisture. In Central Africa there used to be a huge lake called Lake Chad. People depended on that lake for crop irrigation, fishing, livestock, and drinking water. Then as years go by Lake Chad starts to be getting dry out and less water. Arctic and Antarctica are vulnerable to global warming as they both have snow and ice. Arctic is ocean surrounded by land while Antarctica is land surrounded by ocean. The Arctic ice cap is ten feet thick on average. Global warming affect the ice by making it thinner and in 2002 Ward Hunt ice shelf cracked in half. Arctic region is meant to stay frozen all 365 days. The ice gap is melting quickly and shrinking because of global warming. The ice cap helps cooling the entire planet. Polar bears travel from ice floe to ice floe. Since ice is separate the polar bears swim longer distances. Some polar bears get exhausted and drowning before they reach the next ice. Antarctica is much colder than Arctic and is actually a desert. An icy desert. Scientists believe global warming is responsible for the thinning penguin

In the online webpage “Facts: Effects”, Holly Shaftel confirms “Effects that scientists had predicted in the past would result from global climate change are now occurring: loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves” by elaborating the effects of excessive release of greenhouse gases, resulting from various human activities, towards the environment, thus affecting the current ecosystem(Facts:Effects). She supports this claim by first stating that, according to various data collected on greenhouse gas concentration by the intergovernmental panel on climate change(IPCC), “Summer temperatures are projected to continue rising, and a reduction of soil moisture…” and thus result in severe droughts(Facts:Effects).…

In addition to Global Warming’s impact on water, it also impacts the environment, harming ice and bodies of water, plants, and animals. Firstly, Global Warming leads to a shrinkage of glaciers and causes ice on rivers and lakes to break earlier. This decrease in ice also accelerates the rising of sea levels (NASA, The Consequences of Climate Change). Additionally, Global Warming impacts plants, as they are no longer able to survive in certain climates and locations, and trees are flowering earlier. Finally, as a result of Global Warming, animals can no longer live in certain places because places may no longer fulfill their needs (NASA, The Consequences of Climate Change).…

The Clean Air Act (CAA) is an environmental law made by the U.S. government. This federal law aims at regulating air emissions from stationary sources such as industries and mobile sources such as vehicles. It was established to authorize the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to establish National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) that protects the public health through regulation of emissions that have a hazardous effect on air (Sueyoshi & Goto, 2010). The CAA was established in 1963 after several deaths were experienced in 1948 and 1952 due to air pollution. It was amended in 1977 and 1990 with the objective of setting new goals to achieve the attainment of NAAQS.…

The water from the melting ice caps causes ocean levels to rise and over the years it has risen little by little inch by inch. The rising oceans causes flooding in coastal cities and factory’s displacing people from their homes and jobs. Not only is the ocean rising but marshes and coastal plains have seen an increase of water rising. Places far away from ice caps are affected by this too “In Bangladesh over one million people have been displaced due to rising rivers and seas” (Hohensee). This also affects shipping having chunks of ice in the ocean from the caps preventing ships from easily getting from one place to another.…

The problem behind this is the lower regain are being submerge in water, pulse the glaciers themselves holds 70% of freshwater and if they melt it mighty mass with how ocean currents operates. (Transition between main points: the raise of temperature has affected many natural wildlife and the...)
