It was amazing to have this kind of experiences and be familiar with how the students are learning now a day. I think that the teacher picked a great way to help students who are struggling to read. Student’s today need to focus more on having fun with rhyming which can improve their reading and spelling skills. Rhyming can also teach students the patterns and structures in both speaking and writing. I find it amazing because I clearly remember that I did not learn this way when I was young. This kind of activity helps both students and teacher to see how they progressing throughout the time. Doing this kind of activities also helps the teacher to create a new activity that will help the students improve their learning

Doing clinical observations are very important because it gives a change to see student and teacher interactions first hand and get to see how well a student is responding. During my observations at Biddeford Intermediate School, I got the change to shadow an Ed. Teach in a life skills room. This was a great opportunity for me because it was a chance to see another kind of intervention done in the special education department. I have done many observations with an occupational therapist, and they have always been in lighting and very educational, but to visit a life skills room gave me more perspective on the special education department as a whole.…

Within the city of Corpus Christi, there is evidence of economic disparity. I discovered this through my experience with the Junior Achievement (JA) program, and through data collected and observations made on my assigned school and its neighborhood, and of other JA schools in the city of Corpus Christi. All data and observations were collected to show comparisons between each JA school. The information found is valuable because it is important to know about both the physical side of a community and the economic side of a community, and how they compare to each other, as well as how they compare to other communities within a city. Junior Achievement is an organization dedicated to educating young children about branches that deal with economics,…

The classroom was filled with the students, teacher and paraprofessional. Usually, there is another co-teacher in the classroom; however, she was on maternity leave. When entering the classroom, I could see on the other side of the room, against the windows the wall was filled with books, as well as bins in the back of the classroom. The wall is switched out each month with different books that go along with the unit.…

In all of my time of attending Homedale Middle School, I have witnessed many groups of students more increasingly each year. I supposed that each year I become more aware and observant of the life around me--specifically, others’ lives. Some cliques I see only outside, playing football or staying far out into the fields. But others I see every day, chatting in class, eating together at lunch, or even rough-housing in the hallways between periods, which causes chaos for everyone else and blocks our path to class. Even though this is the case, it is easier to identify certain types of groups at lunch.…
