In both graphs, we can not see into the previous month, but is easy to assume that the minimum of the previous cosine cycle only a day or two before the beginning of the graphed months. This follows the pattern of the graphs and the lunar cycles, as the moon is at an assumed 0% illumination, the New Moon phase, before the beginning of the month, and again at the 28th day in each cycle, again reaching the New Moon phase, and putting the complete lunar cycle at around 29.5 days. The calendar system we utilize has eight parts, four major and four intermediate. The phase process starts at New Moon, then to Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter, Waning Crescent, then back to the beginning of the process.…

Through stories mankind has learned all kinds of lessons as well as where they came from, and these two creation stories are no exception. The similarities and differences between the Iroquois and Judeo-Christian creation stories are uncanny. Genesis 1-4 describes how God made the Earth in technically six days, since he took the seventh day off and made it holy; as well as several unfortunate events that took place involving Adam, Eve, Cain, and Abel. The creation story perfectly demonstrates their belief in the concept of sin.…

The moon was covered by a big round sphere which was the earth. If the earth was flat it would not cover a round object. The reason this happens is because the earth's shadow is covering the moon to make this happen the sun was used as the light source and, object covering the surface was the earth and the surface of course was the moon. A shadow of the earth covers the moon and caused the shadow to reflect upon the moon because of the sun hitting it. This describes the shape of the earth based on what's reflecting on the moon.…

Now is the time where I make the distinction between ancient times and modern times. This distinction is marked by two events which took place in the year of 1609. On July 26 of the year Thomas Harriot, a British astronomer and mathematician, among other things, was the first man to look through a "Dutch truncke", or telescope, at the moon and record what he saw. On July 26, 1609 he recorded his first sketch of the moon. Over the next year and a half he drew another seven sketches and two of what he called "Moon maps."…
