The effect of moon phases on human behavior.
The term “Lunar effect” refers to the connection between the moon phases and human behavior. The recorded statistics were recorded in correlation with the phases of the moon. Mainly focusing on abnormal behavior during the full moon.
Violence during the full or close to the full moon. 11,613 cases of aggravated assault in a five year period happened more often around the time of the full moon. 34,318 crimes in a 1 year period occurred more frequently during the full moon. 25,568 psychiatric emergency room visits in a 13-year period decreased around the time of the new and full moon. 76,065 calls to a crisis center in a 4 year period increased for females during new moon and decreased for males during the full moon. Mostly here there were not many negative things happening during the full moon. Mostly it showed decreased anxiety, depression, and psychosis during the full moon.
Suicides during the full moon. Only 841 cases of self poisonings were related to the full moon.
