Mononucleosis or “The Kissing Disease” is a viral infection which causes swollen lymph nodes, fever, and sore throat.
Causes
The Kissing Disease is caused by contact of saliva from an infected person to another person; it can also be spread through contact by an infected person. This disease is not commonly infected by other diseases. The disease has been diagnosed together with a disease by the name of Epstein-Bar Virus for short EBV. A person usually beings to feel the symptoms of the disease right after he or she has gotten infected with the “Kissing Disease.”
This disease affects people of all ages, from infant to old people. The disease is higher on young adults and older adults. It is not very common in younger children.
Diagnosis

The symptoms of the “Kissing Disease” begin slowly in the infected person. The first sign of the disease is shortness of breath. The person begins to feel his or her throat feel sore and hurt severely. They begin to get extremely painful headaches. The tonsils of the infected person begin to swell up and they also turn into a yellowish-white color. The second symptom that can occur is that the cervical lymph begins to swell and hurt.
The next thing that happens is that the person is infected with the disease is a rash that begins to appear on the body. Other symptoms that commonly occur are; drowsiness, discomfort, apprehension, no appetite, lots of muscle pain, the eyes cannot see the light, the heart begins to beat fast (as if the person is having a cardiac arrest), the patient begins to have epistaxis, the skin turns into a yellowish color, and many more symptoms occur with this disease.
