Mold is a health risk

What is it?

Mold is comprised of microorganisms that are fungi, and it reproduces by spores.
There are over 100,000 mold species around the world, with as much as 1,000 different species that are common in the United States.

How do I know I have it?

Mold is actually a natural process in our ecosystem. An important part of our natural environment, mold can also grow at unsafe levels in our homes.

The weather in your part of the country will influence the type and amount of mold that ends up growing in your house.

Look for it

Mold accumulates and grows over time. If you see it, you are overdue for eradication. Start right away.

CLEANING MOLD REQUIRES CAUTION
Don’t look for short cuts to eradicating your mold

Bleach is not the answer. It is toxic. It can become a health risk when applying and after using It does not completely eradicate mold, which may not be noticeable right after cleaning Using bleach does not work on mold that is planted in between porous materials like drywall, lumber, and grout.

CURB THE MOISTURE SEEPING INTO YOUR HOUSE OR AREA OF CONCERN

Find your problem Make your home mold-resistant (you can never get rid of all mold) Check various areas in your home where water may seep through or flood. Check your bathroom windows and corners that have constant condensation Check for water stains. Explore the reasons why. Do not hesitate.

Immediately begin drying the areas where the water or condensation has accumulated Remove water-damaged items like carpet and furniture Don’t leave wet towels and rugs around the house, especially if there is a high humidity Always dry the walls, floors, and windows in your shower Consider using de-humidifiers in certain high humidity
