Mla Citation For Django Movie

The song I chose is not based off of a book, it is based off a screenplay. Which is still a piece of literature. It was written specifically for the 1966 movie, “Django”. The song's title is just “Django”. It was written by Luis Bacalov and performed by Rocky Roberts. Since it was written for a movie, it is not part of an album. It is a very good song that tells the story of a gun-slinging, rogue, ruthless, yet just, cowboy. The screenplay follows the story of Django, a cowboy who run’s into a prostitute, and their journey to end a feud with Klansman and a group of Mexicans, that they get involved in. It is not as good as Quentin Tarantino’s gruesome twenty-twelve masterpiece, “Django Unchained”, a movie that follows a similar story structure. They …show more content…
This is apparent in the song when Luis Bacalov(the lyricist) has “Django, have you ever loved again?”, “Django, have you always been alone?”, “Django, now your love has gone away”,”Once you loved her, whoa-oh Now you've lost her, whoa-oh-oh-oh”, “But you've lost her forever, Django.” This is some pretty dark writings, especially for a song with a fairly upbeat melody. And since this song was written specifically for a movie, it is without a doubt, retelling his story, rather than being just influenced by it. The similarities are so coincidental, that it impossible for it to be just inspired by it. The figurative language example is a form of personification. It goes along the line of “When there are clouds in the skies, and they are gray. You may be sad but remember that love will pass away.” When it said “love will pass away” it is referring to love dying. Love is a feeling, it can go away, like anything. Though it cannot, in fact, die. Dying is only applicable to living things. A thing love is not. For that reason, it is giving human traits to a nonliving thing. Which is a form of

    1. Lively feelings, in which our heart is tattooed with marks of nostalgia and suffering. They are in my opinion, what makes each person grow as a human being to their potential end. Professor Postman in his book "The World Weavers / The World Makers" does not mention the importance of the relationship between feelings and metaphors and how this combination can take us to places never lived. Based on my experience as a human being - a testament to imperfection - circumstances like those mentioned above are to blame for the sweetest and most hurtful metaphors.…

Examples of personification are listed in this paragraph within the two poems and song lyric. Django Unchained and 12 Years a Slave amassed condemnation regarding their misuse of gratuitous brutality. Labelled as ‘torture porn’, both films focused immensely on the physical inhumane treatment of slaves, but that’s not to say they omitted the true dehumanisation of slaves during that time. They may have been set during the civil war and slavery era, and they may have recognised slavery in 19th century America, but, they do not depict slavery in a way that teaches or gives new insight to the viewers. Django can be considered ‘torture porn’ in the sense that it is preoccupied with showing the violence component of slavery through ‘justified revenge’ due to slavery as amusement, more than it informs us of the past. Whereby it is justified when Django kills the white antagonists, the Brittle brothers or Candie, because he had faced such hardships of being a slave and having his wife kidnapped.…

Different poets utilise various poetic techniques to express their opposition against war, death and society. Wilfred Owen in ‘Dulce et Decorum Est’ and Siegfried Sassoon in ‘Suicide in the Trenches’ condemn the glorification of war based on their experiences in World War One. ‘Funeral Blues’ by WH Auden and ‘Do no go gentle into that good night’ by Dylan Thomas convey the poets’ common objection against the inevitability of death. In ‘In the Park’, Gwen Harwood disapproves of the negative effect of domesticity on women’s individuality in the 1950s whilst Thomas Hardy in ‘The Ruined Maid’ opposes the injustices of Victorian moral and economic constraints…

The two poems ‘In our tenth year’ written by Simon Armitage and ‘One flesh’ written by Elizabeth Jennings explore the idea of everlasting love in a long term relationship. One flesh is about a couple in a struggling companionship where the speaker is the couples child talking aloud their thoughts. ‘In our tenth year’, the speaker is one of the people in the relationship talking to their other half. Both poems are about the relationship of the love of two people that has slowly deteriorated over time. However ‘In our tenth year’ explores the theme of forgiveness and is optimistic whereas One flesh is from the point of view of the child and nothing changes they remain apart and separate with no sense of hope for the future.…
