Program. The Finding the Missing Piece Program is created to help families that are struggling with managing a family due to a child being diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder. The program will consist of psycho-educational of ASD, and parent management training for parents and/or caregivers. In addition to a social skills group for children with ASD. The program will be every Monday from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. starting May 2 - December 26, 2016, at Northwest Journey located in Wausau, Wisconsin.

The current target population for the Missing Piece Program is parents/caregivers and children that are diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder. The program manager will be advertising the program to schools, clinics, court house, hospitals, media, and human resource agencies. The requirements to be accepted into the program: the child must be diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder by a neuropsychologist. The program manager will conduct initial assessments with the family via phone or in person (depending on the family’s availability) and collecting data of problematic behaviors within the home and what the parents hope to be able to improve within their home. The program will be able to hold 30 parents and 30 children. Evidence-Based Models. The four basic models that will be used during the Missing Piece program is psycho-educational groups, parent management training, applied behavior analysis and social skills group. Each four models will help a child with ASD and their family improve their daily living, the way they think, decrease negative behaviors and increasing the positive behaviors. Applied behavior analysis is broadly well-known method as a harmless and effective treatment for autism (Foxx, 2008). ABA is basically the method of behavioral guidelines to everything that may happen within someone’s lifetime. It decreases negative behaviors, while improving positives ones. Applied behavior anaylsis is used to help improve language skills, self-help, social skills, communication, and body awareness. Also, used to decrease aggression, self-stimulatory activities, and self-injury. ABA therapist will focus on those different skills during social skills and teaching strategies to the parents as
