In the pictorial, Miss Colombia’s School House (1894), shows the male figure representing Hawaii and the female figure representing Canada being excluded from the United States. It seems that the male figure representing Hawaii is disappointed that he is not allowed in, but the female figure representing Canada seems to look like she does not mind not being allowed in. I believe that the perceptions of the south are also included in the pictorial. An example of this would be the fact that the African American child appears to be holding a weapon. In document four, the both the federal government and the Native American agreed to return any out-of use land that once belonged to the Native American. However, the federal government did not fulfil their promise, which resulted in the Native Americans re-claiming the Alcatraz Island. In the document the Native American said that they would purchase they land and pay forty-seven cents per acre, which much more then what the Americans are paying the Native Americans. They went on to say that the island is useless to the Americans because there is no fresh water, no oil, it is isolated from the American settlers and that the Americans farmers can not use the land to farm, because the soil is rocky and non-productive. The picture in document five was taken after the federal judge ordered the the busing programs to desegregate. In the picture, Theodore Landsmark, was walking to the Boston city, when he was attacked by anti-busing protesters. What really stand out in this picture, is that one of the protesters attempting to assault Landsmark with an American flag, even thought the flag represents pride, freedom, and justice. Both document four and five increased radicalization of the Civil Rights Movement by the 1970s, because of the open forms of communication, that opened the eyes of many Americans as to what was going on in during this time period. However, the new forms of communication also increased violent responses produced by the Anglo American communities. An example example of this would be, when a school is forced to or choose to desegregate, the word would be spread and most likely the next day there will be angry anti- desegregation protesters in the area. Based on Eisenhower’s speech, I believe that he would suggested that the Americans should obey
