Police get the bad end of the stick. They are said to be violent and abuse their powers. “While no one believes the police are perfect, on the whole they tend to use force appropriately to protect their own lives and the lives of others. Moreover, racial disparities in the use of force are largely explained by racial disparities in criminality.” (David French). I could not have said it better myself. But they themselves are hypocrites. When organizations such as Blue Lives Matter pop up to protect the rights of police officers, it is often looked down upon by those who are not related to a police officer or do not have strong feelings for the cause. Organizations such as All Lives Matter, who sprung up in hopes of uniting each side and bringing peace, get the same treatment. Black Lives Matters protesters often cause violence as well. It seems almost every time some case gets blown up by the media, the following day there is massive amounts of looting that takes place in the surrounding area. And often, they encourage anarchy. Of course there is, and that 's why it 's the public’s job to police the police. But when a case of force is documented, people assume that the cop was abusing his powers. Police officers are sworn in by oath. It is their job to protect the lives of others as well as theirs. So when officers tell people to drop their weapon on multiple occasions and the suspect doesn 't, it 's within their own judgement to fire or not.
