The people of Hawaii tend to have a misconception of Hawaiian history. Hawaii's people understand a history of Hawaii but not the correct one because of the denationalization of our people. Denationalization is the term used in the law but it means the same thing as “brain washed” and it is the same method the Germans used in World War II. The Germans used it against the Jewish people to wipe out the population of Jewish people. We need to understand that the goal now is not to fight for sovereignty but the goal is to educate people of the history in more depth. The Bayonet Constitution is a constitution signed by Kalakaua forcing him to hand over the monarchy to Great Britain. The British army pointed their guns and their bayonets to Kalakaua to force him to sign the document to give away Hawaiiʻs monarchy.
Denationalization is a fancy word to say influenced. The people of Hawaii do not know that they have gone through this until they have been educated properly with the correct information. There are many native Hawaiian educators who want to spread the knowledge of Hawaii's past because teaching people about the history. This would help us to have a better understanding of what we really need to do next. These days native Hawaiians fight for sovereignty, which is more than understandable, but why are they fighting for sovereignty when it was not taken in the first place. The issue is showing the proof to people that not only we have our sovereignty but we also are not part of America. The joint resolution created by the Hawaiian League was challenged by President Grover Cleveland. Unfortunately, the resolution stayed and the people of Hawaii were destroyed because our mana or our Ea has been taken away from us and given to foreigners. The word “Ea” means independance and it also means life. Ea is breath and breath gives life to the kanaka. And the “Mana” means power, spiritual or divine power. But our reigning Monarchs did what they had to do to secure a better future for their people. For us kanaka Hawaii. Mana and Ea is very important for the po`e (people) of Hawai`i. Before Hawai`i was overthrown, we had a strong strong monarchy system that lasted for years until the overthrow and the illegal occupation.
