In our box, we put six items that have to do with Minnesota history. The first item that we put in our box is Wild rice and we put this item in this box because this is one of the things that the native Americans eat their food. The native Americans lived in MN and the tribe that lives by us is called the Dakota tribe and we live right about over their summer camp. The second item that we have is a bullet case from World War 2 (WW2) this item must do with Minnesota because some of us were in the war and it was a tragic war that I will talk about in a little bit. In WW2 we won because the other side (Germany) wanted to take over all and we did not allow that and basically we won because they ran out of bullets. The fourth item is a fishing lure, and we put this in the box because the Native Americans (again) fished in rivers like this Mississippi River where we live right by and they lived on it in summer, so basically they fished the rivers and lakes around Minnesota in summer and this was one of their number one food type. The fifth item that we put in the box is a feather, and we put this in the box because this was another one of food types that the natives ate and they hunted birds too. The main types of birds were turkey, duck, goose, and any other bird that they could get. The sixth item is a deer tail, and we put this in our box because deer is an animal that is in Minnesota and most of Minnesota hunts deer. In history, deer was an animal that the natives hunted and they didn't waste one piece of deer. The sixth item that we put in our box was tree bark and this was one of the most important because this was what almost all the houses
