A few weeks ago you assigned us the “Un-Random Acts of Kindness” project to go with the book we finished, “The Five People You Meet in Heaven”. At first, I didn’t understand why we were given this prompt for our project. After completing the novel, I realized the connection you were trying to make. The primary message the book was sending is that we are all connected through one way or another. Performing a random act of kindness, or a planned random act of kindness, can connect us to another person we might have not met if it weren’t for that one moment.…

When Rosa Parks sat in the front of the bus it impacted other people because, she showed us that no one deserves to be treated differently just because of the color of there skin. Blacks and Whites have the same rights as human beings. The example from my own life that showed compassion made an impact on me or someone else is when I open the door for a disabled person. By me opening the door to a person that was not able or had a hard time doing it for themselves did not only show compassion, but it also showed respect and understanding towards another person. The second example from current events that showed how compassion made an impact on me or someone else, was when Romanatwood a Youtuber gives a homeless person a doughnut every day.…

I believe it is more fulfilling to the giver because it is rewarding knowing that your gift is giving someone pleasure and it is not only benefiting the person you are helping but also yourself. Everyone knows the feeling you get as a child on Christmas morning when you are itching to open every present.…

Also, it shows the difference in social norms for general days and the required acts for an experiment. This experiment highlights the almost overbearing stigma around being nice to others. This assignment allowed for the experimenter herself to see that the more compassionate she is the more positive characteristics make an appearance in her life. It made me question why more people don't just send out random acts of kindness. I think that while we grow up, in most homes we're installed with the words "treat others how you would like to be treated" and, "kindness is key!" however, I feel that the society we are in today has lost sight of these words. Random acts of kindness are a selfless act preformed by a person or people wishing to either assist or cheer up an individual or group of people. Whereas our society is becoming a place of flawed character occasionally committing a random act of kindness can help to rebuild our character and give people…

In a world where the negative is on constant display, and the positive is increasingly undermined for its counterpart, its easy for many to look past what it truly means to do good for the people around you. In addition, many believe that these positives, these acts of good, need to be large and on display for the people around them - as if they are doing it as an act of personal gain. This attitude is completely botched, for the greatest, most lasting, and most rewarding act any individual can do is the little things, the things that leave you, and the person you helped, with a smile on their face and warmth in their heart. There is no limit to the amount of kindness that one can spread, and it could be anything from smiling at someone who…
