There are many differences between military individuals and civilians but today I’m gonna talk about the diference between military and civilian college students. This shows that even though they are all students at a similar campus, they have their own views, attitudes and opinions towards things.
To start off with, one reason that shows that military students are different from civilian students is that we don’t complain over simple things. For example during my walks around campus I hear civilian students complaining over ridiculous matters, such as having to waking up early, that their outfits don’t look good enough or theres something with the food they buy from the cafeteria. To us this is nothing, we wake up earlier than seven, and usually we are up around four-thirty in the morning, we wear the same uniform everyday and we eat

Since day one of boot camp all we hear are our drill instructors creative ways to insult us and even after boot camp we just insult each other for the fun or it. We don’t care because at the end of the day we are all brothers and we know we can joke around with each other. For civilian students however that is not the case. They are so sensitive that they now have safe spaces or safe zones around campus. That one little word can offend them even if you are not speaking to them. Military students roll with the punchs and know that words are words. Yes, sometimes we can get irritated over something that someone says, but we don’t go rushing to a safe space so we can feel better. We either stand up and argue back or just ignore it and for some reason civilian students don’t share the same views on that.
These are only a few of the many differences between military and civilian college students. I am not saying civilians have to join the military to undertand or be like us im just saying these civilian kids have to grow up and grow a

When veterans return from military service, one important avenue of return to cilivan life and career is through higher education. By the year 2020, it is estimated that 5 million service members will leave the service and a large portion of them will be choosing to attend college and universities. The post 9/11 GI Bill enacted in 2009 made it much more assessable for military veterans to attend college, by enacting financial incentives that pay for tuition, textbooks and housing. Important differences in culture and perceptual perspectives exist between student veterans and college personnel. Few college students, staff, faculty, or administrators themselves have military backgrounds so they have no understanding of the challenges veterans…

However, now I have a respectable amount of assets, a career with upward mobility, and a nice home of my own. How would you feel as a parent if your children were convinced to join the military through deception? This is what is happening throughout the United States where representatives from the armed forces come to talk to students about joining the armed forces. While this can be a positive thing, many parents including peace groups are against this because of the pure pressure it puts on the students among other things. In order to keep students from making a decision that they don’t truly believe in as a result of the trickery recruiters make, the United States should issue a law to keep military recruiters out of high schools.…

In the article entitled “Tour of Duty” by Sheila Suess Kennedy and Matt Impink, it is stated that student-loan debt and civil literacy are both issues of note in American society. They contend that the institution of a program for high school graduates that would trade a year of “employment with a government agency or nonprofit organization focused on civic improvement” (Kennedy/ Impink) for two years of financial aide towards all costs of a higher, public education. The authors state that a similar program was instituted nearing the end of World War II that gave financial benefits to war veterans. Kennedy and Impink also point out that “defending the United States is an important goal, but military service is only one aspect of that defense. It is equally important that citizens understand just what our military is protecting.”…

I believe the undeserving, from an ethical perspective, deserve a sense of understanding and also a chance for rehabilitation. We as humans make mistakes and even a person with no prior criminal history is capable of committing an offense at any point in time. As Alexander Pope said, “To err is human, to forgive divine definition. All people commit sins and make mistakes.” In the military we are taught how to survive when placed in a dangerous situation, such as on a deployment.…

Previously, I attended a women’s college that was known for its large completely female military program. Majority of the girls in the program came from military families and understood what it was like to be military children. Being that I was a raised by a civilian and had never met any military kids before, I didn't understand why they would want to join the military knowing what they experienced being military children and what their parent(s) experienced being in the military. Now that i think about it, that may be one of the reasons why the girls in the program were so close to each other. They rarely hung out with civilians or even the other who may have been military kids but not in the military program.…

Essay One Growing up in a small farm town that was more interested in goofing off and just working, didn’t really prepare me for college. Being exposed to several different learning environments since graduating high school, I would definitely have to say it was a rude awaking for me when the military got a hold me and put be through their training environment for new recruits. That being said though, attending a University at a later age and having been exposed to two different ways of educational regiments I am more prepared now than before. School work was considered a joke for most of students growing up and if attendance wasn’t a requirement most of us probably would have never shown up for homeroom.…
