2. As you know, I am currently pregnant in my third trimester. Pregnancy may not prohibit me from competing in the board itself, but there are also other events that I cannot participate in. At the time of this letter, I have less than two months of pregnancy. Once I give birth, I will be on convalescent leave for three months.
3. Other than pregnancy, I do not wish to further my career in the military. I have an estimated Expiration – Term of Service (ETS) date of 05 Nov 2017. This board would be helpful to me if I chose to reenlist or advance my military career. Since I will be departing from the army in less than eight months, I believe attending this board will not aid me in my transition out of the army.

After my three months of convalescent leave from pregnancy, I will have three months left in the army. During my last few months, I will be preparing to transition from military to civilian life. Two of the three months, I will be on terminal leave. With my last month left in the army, I plan to continue fulfilling everyday duties as well as out-process.
5. I understand that the SOQ Board is meant for soldiers to better themselves as well as to help them progress in their career, but I do not plan to advance in the army. Nevertheless, I find that it is best to allow others the opportunity to do so.
