COMPARISON PAPER Science, fact or fiction, you be the judge. The two articles that I chose to write about are; Few mild-to-moderate parkinson’s disease patients suffer from malnutrition, yet almost one third are at risk (IOS Press BV, September.11, 2014). Also Slim quick diet pill. In the first article about Parkinson’s disease (PD) it basically is stating that patients are at risk for malnutrition and poor nutrition (IOS Press BV, september. 11, 2014). The reasoning behind this is because they have trouble with food preparation and food ingestion. “Published studies have also suggested that PD is associated with low weight, however, few studies included control groups (IOS Press BV, September. 11, 2014 #1)”. The results of this study indicate the same nutritional status among mild-to-moderate PD patients compared with healthy controls (IOS Press BV, September. 11, 2014). To determine their results they used Persion Version of the mini nutritional assessment (MAA) questionnaire (IOS Press BV, September. 11, 2014). They asked all the patients 18 questions, lasting 10-15 minutes (IOS Press BV, September. 11,2014).

I believe that if you want to lose weight you need to eat a well balanced clean healthy diet. Eat lots of green leafy vegetables, fish, and chicken. You also need to drink a lot of water. All the side effects that come with slim quick is to me more dangerous to your body (Hussey, May. 28, 2009). Your clean healthy diet will not have any harmful side effects, but weight

This suggests that there are many other factors that need to be considered in this type of study to deem it valid. Having two years to monitor the participants benefited the study in providing more accurate results for the study conducted, but only further showed that the PD used in the study began to increase and then plateau after the first six months. A more controlled and accurate study is needed to conclude on the benefits of the PD versus the NNR diet or any other…

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, more formally known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a neurodegenerative disease, causing the selective degeneration of both upper and lower motor neurons, as well as those in the motor cortex portion of the brain, which ultimately leads to the limited to complete loss of all voluntary muscle function. Now while the main pathology of ALS is the selective death of the previously mentioned motor neurons, more recent studies have suggested that the homeostatic imbalance of the whole body or just key cellular metabolism may help to increase the rate of progression of the disease. Sadly none-the-less this occurrence is one that proves to be ultimately fatal, generally resulting in death within three to five years…
