1. 4 Management Functions (Chapter 1)- The knowledge of knowing about the 4 management functions is going to allow me to know how about going about helping operate the business. By understanding the planning aspect I am going to be able to put forth the goals we want to achieve, and also put forth a plan to achieve these goals. Understanding how to deal with an ethical dilemma (Chapter 3)- Determining what is morally okay, and what is not is going to be tested in a business at times. I believe that knowing how to deal with an ethical dilemma is important. The four approaches are going to be important in determining what to do when faced with an ethical dilemma. I will have to apply a happy medium between the individual approach, and the other three, to solve these ethical dilemmas. Planning process the big picture (Chapter 5)- Applying the mission statement of the company will be important as it describes what the company strives to provide the customers. I will follow the mission statement so I can help ensure that the company is going to go in the right direction, which will ensure the company meets its vision statement. The vision and mission statement will then help top managers be able to implement a plan. Finally, the first line managers will apply the objectives in their operations.
9. 5 Steps in the Strategic Management Process (Chapter 6) The strategic management process will be important as it is going to allow the business to have structure. We are going to want to formulate a company motto of what we want to provide our customers. We will also want to make sure that what we want to achieve is within reach, but at the same time not to easy to achieve.
