I think on human behavior the best fit of research to obtain data is for humans to not know their behavior is being observed by a researcher (like in a case study) so they won't alter their behavior. Therefore, Surveying seems to be one of the easiest ways in my opinion. But Naturalistic observation is the main research method commonly used by psychologists.

Discuss in the forum what you found interesting or of personal value in your studies...and why!
Answer- I personally found everything in this course to be valuable since I am a psychology major. From fitting in variety of research methods and ways that are suitable for certain situations and unsuitable for others to sharing on forums, helping us have a better understanding of each other's thoughts and opinions.

This course has been very beneficial to my development as a culturally grounded social worker. There were four components that stood out to me. One thing that stood out to me was the article regarding the experiences of Vietnamese refugees. The article painted a great picture of the treatment of those who are from underrepresented populations. The feelings you described were raw and represent feelings of others who might feel uncomfortable with speaking up for themselves when they are treated properly.…

The research method I would choose would be participant observation. It reduces people acting in a certain way when they are aware of being observed it allows both quantitative and qualitative data to be collected through surveys and interviews. With qualitative research you get narratives that you cannot get with any other method. This method is more feasible than many types of research. It takes less time, costs less money, leads to convenient and quicker access to a group, and many behaviors can be observed within a small amount of…

I have faced many challenges and obstacles, but I have also learned a lot about myself as a student as well as a future social worker. This course has helped me to reignite my passion for activism, but also explore the sort of social work I wish to partake in such as becoming a broker for services. One of the biggest takeaways from the course was when I learned that social work should be seen as both a science and art, two areas that I am fascinated about. I also truly cherished the lecture of self care and have incorporated this into my daily life, but also with…

I see where infants who have been neglected in foster care are on their way to a partial recovery due to a good family taking care of them and the child receives the positive outcome due to a loving family and…

Psychologists will employ a certain type of scientific method, known as a set of procedures that will be used to gather the results of what they are experimenting with. Every scientific method will be different, however they will usually involve a sample, a population, and a random type of selection. The research processes can also be unfolded into four different stages. These stages can then be concentrated separately to increase the overall success of the results you gain. What I find interesting with the scientific method is that it can apply to anything you feel like researching, not just the realm of psychology.…

    1. For me, the three most important things I learned in this class was to pay more attention to the behaviors obtained and expressed by children, I learned more information on the various ways that a teacher can adapt and accommodate the special needs their students might need in order to be successful in their learning outcomes, and finally I learned how important it is for teachers to take the extra time to learn about the different cultures their students come from, whether it be by participating in cultural events, reading some books, or finding additional ways to immerse themselves in it. 2. To implement the above practices into my classroom, I will be sure to interact constantly with my students and their families, always trying to learn…

When I first began this class I thought that this would be just another introductory class that is required to orient you to the expectations of the particular college. Now, after completing this class, I know that this is not the case. Personal Dimensions of Learning has been a great help, not only to my school work, but also in my daily life. Before taking this class, I thought that learning, and completing daily tasks, were mostly memorizing the order of the way things are supposed to be done and just completing the task. I never liked this strategy, but it always seemed to be the most convenient way to get things done at school, home, and work.…
