A mentor is a person who provides others the benefit of their years of experience and/or education. The mentor / mentee experience is shared in a way that the mentor contributes in developing the mentee's skills and abilities, which in turn benefits the mentee and the organization. As organizations put more energy into human resource management and development, supervisors and managers are being evaluated on the basis of how well they develop their staff, not to mention, their own progress and individual accomplishments. Mentoring is a valuable tool that more organizations recognize and encourage. The benefits for mentors include the opportunity to:
• direct and influence other people,
• develop technical support, encouraging innovation
