It is my passion to help people feel better and smile. I am enthusiastic to pursue a Master’s degree in nursing with a specialization in psychiatric-Mental Health to acquire more knowledge about mental illness, and to study how to provide mental health services. My goal is to become a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). Pursuing an MSN-PMHNP will motivate me to attain my goal, assist individuals with mental disorders, to aid people overcome addiction or substance abuse, and to provide grief counseling with special training in pregnancy related issues. My approach to online learning is to log into the classroom daily, work on assignments at the beginning of the week, and submit them by the deadline. I intend to study for a minimum of three hours daily, and to drive to the library on my days off to read and learn for eight hours. For the last four semesters of the program, I plan to set aside 16 hours per week of clinical. The remainder of the weeks are to prepare for final exams, final projects, and assignments that are due. In five years as a nurse practitioner, I hope to provide mental health services, assist people addicted to drugs and alcohol, and to provide grief counseling. I also will obtain the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree to be a professor at a university.
In conclusion, I delight in caring for clients in the behavioral health units at the hospitals where I worked. My goal is to become a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. I aspire to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals and families with psychiatric disorders, and to comfort those who are grieving. I want to help my community, and hope Regis College will accept me into their MSN-PMHNP program to achieve my
