It is a syndrome that combines vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss with pressure. Vertigo is the feeling of spinning, and tinnitus a persistent buzzing or ringing within the ear. The source of Meniere’s disease is not fully known. Researchers have concluded Meniere’s occurs when the fluid within the inner ear changes in volume. The inner ear is composed of ducts that contain fluid known as the labyrinth. The external portion of the inner ear is made from bone.
