In order to overcome gender biases it will take a set of things to take place. First, electing more qualified women with a well-qualified experience, secondly, increase how women are represented in all spectrums of the media and also getting women more or equal media coverage than men. Also, another thing to add will be to highlight a woman’s more competitive and aggressive side. Women tend to have a lot to prove when tampering into a male dominated field, with that being said, a candidate like Hillary who help overcome biases because she is afford to stand her ground when the stakes are high or when there is lots of controversy. In this day and age, individuals including the people who are least likely to vote are leaning towards candidates who are dedicated to fight for great policies but are still able to compromise. These are the characteristics that tend to go missing today in politics. In order for society to overcome these biases, there needs to be a culture change, and the good thing about culture is that it changes every day. In a book written by Eleanor Clift and Tom Brazaitis, tilted “Madam President: Shattering the Last Glass Ceiling”, stated that, “… Overcoming gender bias is like dealing with any other disadvantage going into a competitive race” and to add to that, they also stated “the difference is that women do not have as broad a canvas to work with as male candidates” (5). Women have to watch what they say and do and what’s appropriate and in appropriate.
