Melba Pattillo Beals 'Warriors Don' T Cry

In the memoir "Warriors Don't Cry", Melba Pattillo Beals has many upsetting obstacles throughout her life that are hard to deal with. As a young teen, Melba and 9 others were integrated to Little Rock Central High. Most all of the students there were racist and would mentally bully Melba. She was yelled at with harsh words, would get lethal threats, and she was physically abused by her classmates. It took a lot for Melba to be able to stay strong and continue at Little Rock. Whenever she was in doubt, Melba would think of several different things to help her get through the challenges she faced. She would often use religion to help her with what she was dealing with. She would also think of her grandma India, and her brother. Sometimes, she would even think of her guard Danny and his knowledgeable words that he had told her, he told her that warriors never give up and it inspired her to keep going.
