Following the impeachment of Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), Megawati Soekarnoputri was appointed to replace the position as president of Indonesia. She was the first female president ever to hold presidency and the daughter of the first Indonesian president, Soekarno. The vice president which selected to be her vice in running the Government is Hamzah Haz. Both of them together to run the governance as the President and Vice President until October 20, 2004. This can be seen from Indonesian currency was stable with Rp.8.500/USD averagely. Megawati has been successfully reached the normal foreign exchange rate. However some critics came from her initiation to sold ‘healthy’ state-owned company such as Indosat. The sale of Companies aims to protect the state from intervening political forces and reduce the burden on the state. Sales proceeds successfully raised Indonesia's economic growth to 4.1%. However this policy sparked a lot of controversy, because the privatized of SOEs sold to foreign companies. Megawati intends to took middle road by selling state assets to repay foreign debt. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono or more known as "SBY" is the sixth president of Indonesia. With his partner H.Muhammad Jusuf Kalla as Vice President, SBY was elected from October 20, 2004. With United Indonesian Cabinet, they run the governance at that time. And for the cabinet was formed on October 21, 2004 and ended in 2009. Then, on the second Presidential election, SBY was re-elected again to serve as President on October 20, 2009 with Prof. Dr. H. Boediono, M.Ec as the Vice President. During this period, the government set four policy to boost economic growth of the State, which is reducing fuel subsidies, or in other words raising fuel prices. This policy motivated by the rise in world oil prices. Budget subsidies transferred to education and health sectors, as well as areas that support the welfare of the people. During twice held the mandate to be president of Indonesia, SBY implement such policies provide direct cash assistance (BLT) for poor people who need, distribute BOS funds to educational facilities that is in the Republic of Indonesia, and National Program Empowerment People (PNPM) Mandiri and Public Health Insurance
