Context
Ms. Susan Seer, and employee of MedTech, was recently injured in the workplace and place on worker’s compensation. However, it was discovered that Ms. Seer was in violation of many of the worker’s compensation rules. With the discovery of the violations, Ms. Seer’s worker’s compensation benefits were stopped. Ms. Seer then went on to write a letter addressing the vice president of MedTech that she will be seeking legal action if her benefits were no reinstated.

Seer in response to the letter she wrote to MedTech’s vice president. My strategy for this letter was to remain empathic to Ms. Seer’s situation. In the letter she wrote, she talked about taking legal action against MedTech, and I did not want to escalate those feelings any further. I wanted to provide Ms. Seer with information that the insurance company observed, as well as reiterate what the physician instructed her to do, so I can make her feel responsible for her actions. I instructed Ms. Seer to return to work or risk termination, so that whatever the outcome, she was the one making the …show more content…
I wanted to provide basic knowledge of benefits to the employees, and at the same reference Ms. Seer’s case without talking about it directly. I tried to keep in mind Ms. Seer’s failure to inform the insurance company of her additional income.

I also wanted to keep away from taking an aggressive tone. I was new to the MedTech family and I did not want to make any future situations with the employees uncomfortable, so I tried to stray away from confrontation. I felt it was important to reiterate Mr. McKay’s words about MedTech taking care of their employees. I also wanted to create a caring environment coming from the Human Resource department, so I included a benefits discussion that included lunch.

Summary
My objective for this project was to write a letter to Ms. Seer addressing her concerns and those of MedTech, and to create a memo explaining the worker’s compensation benefits provided to the employees of MedTech. I feel confident both the letter and memo addressed each situation appropriately. I made it a purpose to stay professional, and to think about my audience when they are reading each
