The integration of views of misrepresented communities have been determined in many instances as ways of promoting collective identity in the process of normalizing their experiences within a given setting. However, the kind of globalization that is taking place today works ona different level. On the one hand it supposes that the necessity of promoting diverse views is informed by the idea that people are interacting on a larger scale. This is set on a scale that is connected to the commercialization of the global village. The implication of this commericalization is that many people will select their own experiences in regards to their popularity and how they impact eventually on the social interactions and how this promotes economic means (Bodley, 2008; Cultural Survival, 2014; Acharya & Anshu, 2008). This is how the mainstream media has operated, by injecting the kind of global consumption that is associated with popular ideas. However, this is often not done with the aim of changing a particular narrative and the desire to do so is always thwarted by the realitie sof our time (Bodley, 2008).
