Through this discussion I have learned that all 3 steps must be accomplished in a specific order and constantly maintained and updated as required by law. I have also learned that it is imperative for not only the physician and the nurse but the patient must also be an active part in all 3 stages. These stages are highly regulated and monitored. The EHR is critically important, not only in the physician office but also if the patient requires an inpatient stay.
