The title “The Outsiders” in itself describes the overall them of the story, as the characters involved feel as outsiders in society. When one looks at life as an outsider and feels as though one is being treated as an outsider, creates a perspective that makes one feel that life is unfair. During the dramatic and deeply confusing time of adolescence in life, teenagers often consider themselves to know the way of the world, yet find themselves still under the control of others, which creates tension and disillusion with society.
