Areas on the Mayan land, were faced with heavy rainfall. Document 3, goes on to explain that the heavy rainfall produced dense rainforests. A dense rainforest is defined as a compact area filled with a variety of plant and animal species. With heavy rainfall comes agriculture which leads to specialization. This creates more jobs, due to the fact that there is an agricultural surplus. An agricultural surplus allows people to focus on other activities beside farming. For example, one can become a blacksmith since there is no need for a large amount of farmers. The Maya area was also surrounded by large bodies of water. These bodies of water included, the Gulf of Honduras, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Pacific Ocean as stated in document 2.
