Anti-Mullerian hormone, or AMH, holds important information about a woman’s fertility

At FertilityAnswers, we are committed to helping patients unlock their pregnancy potential. To help our patients achieve pregnancy success, our Southern Louisiana fertility centers perform anti-Mullerian hormone, or AMH, testing to gain information about a woman’s ovarian reserve, or egg supply.

AMH levels provide insight about a woman’s ovarian reserve and may even be able to predict when a woman will experience menopause

• If a woman has high levels of AMH, she has a healthy egg supply.
• However, if she has low levels of AMH, she has a diminished ovarian reserve.

The fertility specialists at our Southern Louisiana fertility centers want to stress that it is not impossible to conceive if you have low AMH levels. Low AMH levels simply indicate that it may be more difficult for you to get pregnant. As a result, your physician will likely recommend that you begin to consider fertility treatment or fertility preserving measures like egg freezing.

Our fertility specialists can assess a woman’s AMH levels with a blood test

When you visit our Southern Louisiana fertility centers for AMH testing, your physician will arrange for you to have a blood test. AMH testing is a unique form of ovarian reserve testing, because it can be performed at any time during your menstrual cycle. This is because AMH levels do not fluctuate throughout the month.

In addition to AMH testing, your physician may also recommend a blood test to assess your levels of follicle-stimulating hormone, or FSH. Unlike AMH, FSH is produced in your pituitary gland and its levels do fluctuate throughout the month. Despite these differences, FSH can also provide useful information about your ovarian reserve. High levels of FSH indicate a diminished ovarian reserve, while lower levels indicate a healthy egg

Ethical Examination Overall, there is divergence in the opinions of the public, researchers, and politicians in regards to the ethics of embryonic stem cell research and the responsibility of policies in setting restrictions for what is legal and what is funded in this research. As already stated in this paper, the debate does not simple end with a simple explanation. Within the two sides of this debate there are six different ethical positions that are generally recognized. One, all utilization of human embryos for research is wrong (Greely, 2013). Two, surplus in-vitro embryos can be used, but additional ones cannot be made for the purpose of scientific research (Greely, 2013).…

Aromatase Inhibitors Anastrozole and letrozole are triazole derivatives that act as potent, competitive, nonsteroidal inhibitors of aromatase. Aromatase is an enzyme which catalyzes the rate-limiting step in estrogen production. Letrozole inhibits estrogen production in the hypothalamus–pituitary axis, which results in compensatory increase in gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) and FSH and stimulates ovarian follicular development.…
