Mary Stuart was a beautiful young lady with many talents and a love for art. She was also a deceitful person, and she was promiscuous. Mary’s life was hectic as she bounced back and forth between husbands. She also had many affairs during her marriages. She married many of her husbands for the satisfaction of having more power instead of for true love. Despite her charming outward appearance, Mary Stuart was a vicious power hungry leader.
The first eighteen years of Mary’s life were twisted and fascinating. Mary was a princess for less than a year before her father died, and she became queen (Lasky). As said by Alphonse de Lamartine, after her husband's death, Mary fell for David Rizzio an Italian man she had met in France. She was attracted to Rizzio on account of his talent for artistry. However the attraction between the two caused many problems in the castle. A few days after marrying Darnley, Mary cheated on him with Rizzio. After finding out about this, Darnley plotted to kill Rizzio. He found a few men that would be willing to help him accomplish this, and they devised a plan. While this was happening Mary, oblivious to what was happening, replaced Darnley’s name with Rizzio’s in all of the newspapers. As all of this was happening Mary found out she was pregnant with the heir to the throne, James VI. One night Darnley’s promise came true and he murdered Rizzio with the help of his men. Rizzio’s cause of death was fifty-five stab wounds with a dagger. Mary was heart broken upon finding out the love of her life had been murdered by her husband. Mary vowed revenge on Darnley for this terrible crime. Mary found and beheaded Darnley and all of his accomplices. Mary then had Rizzio exhumed and reburied in Holyrood
