Who is Martin Luther KIng Jr.? Martin Luther King Jr. was known for his role in the Civil Right, Peace movement, and his speech “ I Have a Dream”. The Civil Rights movement was based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. His speech was about everyone being the same and for everyone to come together. The speech was given during the March of Washington. He was the leader of the Civil Rights.
He was assassinated April 4, 1968. His assassination was at a hotel by James Earl Ray. James was in jail for 99 years before he died in a hospital. He help with the boycott of the buses. When it was over and it was okay with blacks and whites to ride the same bus. Martin Luther was arrested, and his home was bombed. He continued to rule the world at risk. He later was elected for president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He traveled over 6 million miles to speak while traveling he wrote 5 books.
