Each class held on to different aspirations that his work would lead to the reformation of the Catholic Church. This movement created the Protestant Reformation that sought to reform the Roman Catholic Church to recapture its new testament teachings (Maurer, 1/11/17). These appealing ideas united many of the German-speaking population to create an uprising that aimed to improve the condition of church
