Marita Blake, 16, said these words best describe herself.
Blake, a sophomore and co-opinions editor of the Prowler, who adds passion to the list. “Passion is learning more about something even when what you’re learning about isn’t fun or interesting,” said Blake during an interview for her journalism class in the Hub.
Blake’s passions include swimming. “I started [swimming] because I needed something to do with my time. I needed something to get my energy out because I’m a really energetic child.” Blake also swims for the Central York High School swim team. “I do it more for the social aspect. My friends are there and it’s fun talking to them during practices.” she said.
Blake also enjoys the social aspect of the Speech and Debate Team. She does prose and poetry, a form of speech and debate. She likes the educational value of speech and debate “Everyone is here to learn. The people there they learn more about the topics they’re doing their speech on.”

“I have gray ones, blue ones, pink ones, yellow ones, purple ones and then I have these rain boots and a pair of slippers.” She turned her passion of Crocs into a club held in flex “Nick Cappella and I as the co-presidents and we wear Crocs every Friday.” Blake turned her Croc Club into something more “It started out to be a fun thing but, I started thinking maybe we could do things with it.” She used the Croc Clubs to give back to her community “Three weeks ago we did socks, hats and glove drive for families in the district that needed them... that turned out pretty well.” She enjoyed the turnout of the donation she is planning another one. “Some time in the spring I plan on doing a shoe drive,” she
