This is a rebuttal to the nonrec I received last Tuesday. The nonrec states that I do not meet my OIC's physical fitness standards in order to be promoted. It does not exactly state it, but I know that he is referring to my 2nd class PFT. His "standard" for promotion as stated by the corporals a couple weeks ago while passing word was that anyone that does not have a 1st class PFT or fails the rifle range will not be looked at for promotion. Although, this standard is now easily achievable for me, it was not the standard for recommendation when I ran my PFT back in April.…

Dempsey's in regards to educating the fundamental principles of mission command, seem to be broken down into a mental ranger school. I say this in response to his education method, "Students must be placed in situations of uncertainty where creative and critical thinking and effective rapid decision making are stressed. Training must replicate the chaotic and uncertain nature of military operations. Training must place leaders in situations where fleeting opportunities present themselves…" I believe his way ahead is sound and that exposure will allow leaders to train as they fight. Even if the fight is rapidly translating chaos into opportunities for…

Seek responsibility and take responsibility for your actions, what that means is that when you do something, make a decision, whatever it may be, take responsibility for them. Being a leader of any kind, at any level means someone either looks up to you, or they simply look to you for guidance. When you have people under you, or that you are in charge of, you have to be on top of things, know how to handle any situation, and if you do not know how to handle a situation, then know where you can find information on how to handle the situation. Marines past, present, and future all have had to and will have to take responsibilities for their actions. In some way, shape, or form we cannot just try and weasel our way out of a situation.…
