Unlike cigarettes, and many other drugs, marijuana is not addictive. According to Brown University, “Both animal and human studies show physical and psychological withdrawal symptoms from marijuana, including irritability, restlessness, insomnia, nausea and intense dreams.”(Alcohol, Tobacco, & Other Drugs) What is wrong with this is, that all of these withdrawal symptoms are symptoms that a patient would be prescribed medical marijuana. It is also said that “10% to 14% of users will become heavily dependent.”(Alcohol, Tobacco, & Other Drugs) 10-14% is such a small amount of medical marijuana users to say that it is addictive.
