Margot Betti Frank
The eight people hiding in the Secret Annex can never go outside, must remain silent throughout all hours. The Franks, the Van Pels and later Mr. Pfeffer have very little space and food which brings on hunger and a small amount of living space to be shared between the eight people. They live in constant fear of discovery while the Nazis march on the streets outside below their windows. It is tough for everyone and tension increasingly builds which erupts in multiple arguments all through the hiding.
Margot Betti Frank was born February 16, 1926 to the parents of Otto and Edith Frank and the older sister of the legendary, Anne Frank. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany to jewish parents and lived in the outer suburbs. While Anne inherited her father's doubt towards the torah, Margot followed her mother's example and became involved in the Jewish Community. Margot is a calm, serious girl who enjoys studying. Along with four others hiding in the same Secret Annex encased by a secret door behind a bookshelf each person was required to uphold a task. Otto Frank was the leader, the one in charge. When a decision had to be made, all eyes turned to Mr. Frank. Miep Gies was Otto Frank’s secretary and later became one of the five helpers to assist while they are hiding away, by bringing them food and news about what's happening outside of the Secret Annex. Margot Frank was the quietest person while hiding, she was in charge of helping Mrs. Frank prepare the food and attempt to keep her sister Anne under control.
